Linda Dolsberry
I’m Linda Dolsberry. In 2019, my husband and I moved to Sun City (on East Desert Glen Dr.) from Lawrence, Kansas. We have three sons who live in Texas, NYC, and Anchorage. After retiring as a speech therapist in 2015, I discovered pickleball. I was hooked immediately. Where else can you workout, laugh, make new friends, improve skills rapidly, and laugh some more? All that is needed are a paddle, ball, the correct shoes, a court and 3 other players.
The Pickleball Club was the first group I joined in SCOV. I felt welcomed immediately by the players and knew I would someday inquire how I could ‘do my part’ in the organization. I became one of the trainers of the pickleball machine. I meet with players who want to practice/improve their skills more quickly. I teach interested players how to set up the machine and use it in different ways depending on the skill they want to improve. I meet with them as often as they ask until they are comfortable enough to check out the machine by themselves.
Recently, I was approached by a friend who asked if I would consider running for a position on the board. After careful consideration, I realized this could be my next step- to become part of the leadership in this fun, healthful sport. I believe pickleball changes and improves lives in many ways. Several players have said as much during conversations. There is a growing group of players here in SCOV. It is so rewarding to work with beginners and see how this sport changes their lives. Some ask me why I spend so much time with beginners. I explain, “Many people took time to teach and work with me when I was just starting to play this game. I’m just paying it forward”.
I am running for a position on the Pickleball Board because I want to promote and help develop this sport in SCOV.
Thank you for your consideration.

Dennis Fisher
I was born and raised in Northern Ohio, 1949. Schooled in MN most of my formative and adult life where I later set up my own business as a general contractor. Married and raised my son, recently a grandson, and my daughter. A very active Lion Club member for 20 years where I served on that board, served as President, received the Helen Keller and Melvin Jones awards. My business specialized in fire restoration and related insurance damage repairs. Marketing, advertising, computer estimating, project management, subcontractor coordination, billing and collections was my sole responsibility.
In 2016 I turned my company over to my son and started exploring retirement. Also that year, I was introduced to the wonderful workout game of Pickleball.
I visited SCOV the fall of 2020 and purchased a home on Ember Ridge in January 0f 2021 after falling in love with the area and community.
I consider myself as a average player in both Pickleball and the game of golf. Just returning from Cincinnati, where my older brother is battling Lewey Bodies, I am committed to not waiting for life to catch me but going after it.
Again, appreciate the consideration.
Sincerely,
Dennis C. Fisher

Hi. My name is Carol Murray. I was born & raised in Minneapolis, MN. I attended the Univ of Mn & received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I worked at the Veteran’s Administration Med Center at Fort Snelling for 4 years before doing a VA transfer & moving to Phoenix, AZ. After 1 year in AZ I decided to join the Air Force, & spent the next 25 years traveling the world & enjoying my AF career. I was fortunate in being able to earn my master’s degree in nursing while in the AF. I am still working part-time & have been a nurse for almost 47 years.
When I retired in Jan 2004 I settled in Vancouver, WA to be closer to family, which is where I spent the next 17 years enjoying the Pacific NW, soccer (Go Timers, Go Thorns), & hiking. I spent several years as a snow bird in Tucson before deciding to sell my house in Vancouver, WA & moving to Tucson permanently 8 Aug 2021.
My passion is traveling & I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to many parts of our wonderful world experiencing a variety of cultures. I just signed up for my 2nd Habitat for Humanity trip in Armenia May 2022. Hard work but warms the heart.
I discovered pickle ball when I came to Sun City & am now an impassioned player eager to learn more & get better. I believe in being involved in my community & volunteering which is why I volunteered for the pickle ball committee. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
