Jim Steinmetz
My name is Jim Steinmetz and I’m running for a position on the SCOV Pickleball Board.
I have been a resident of SCOV for almost three years and a member of the PB Club for two years. I came from northeast Ohio and was a police officer for almost 30 years before retiring and moving here. I also spent four years in the Navy after school.
Since moving here, I have been impressed with the people who are some of the nicest people I’ve ever been around. Especially those who give so much of their own time to benefit others. I have enjoyed being a member of the PB Club tremendously and think it is time I gave something back to the Club. I like to think I can work well with others and look forward to keeping our Club the best in SCOV.
Tim Taschler
My name is Tim Taschler. My wife, Coko, and I moved to SCOV in May. I work as a wealth advisor and am coming off a 13 year hiatus from racquet sports after having lived in the San Diego mountains tending to three acres, goats, chickens and dogs. Now settled in SCOV, I have become a PB regular working to overcome the muscle memory of a life playing squash, handball and tennis (it’s not easy). I am currently an alternate board member on the SCOV Budget & Finance committee, and would like to help out with the PB Club as needed.

Michael Voellinger
I grew up in West Virginia, the oldest child in a family of six boys and one girl. I graduated from West Virginia University, earned a Chartered Life Underwriter designation, and worked for a large insurance company as a Life Insurance Underwriter. During my 30 years there, I transitioned to the financial advisory part of the business. I married my wife, Linda, in 1978 and we have two children.
In 2016, Linda and I bought a condominium in the Sabino Canyon area and were winter visitors. The complex had 408 units. In 2017, I ran for their Board and served for two years.
In the spring of 2021, after returning to WV, my daughter announced that she and her family were moving to Arizona but were not exactly sure where. Since we were familiar with Sun City Oro Valley, we jumped at the chance to live here… and fortunately our children moved just off of Tangerine Road. We are all now full time residents.
